Elena spent 12 years studying coral reef ecosystems across the Pacific and Caribbean before bringing her passion for ocean conservation to children's books. She holds a PhD in Marine Biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and has contributed to reef restoration projects in six countries. Her books combine real ecological science with adventure storytelling, helping kids understand why oceans matter and what they can do to protect them.
